Sharon Chai is the owner of Bamboobino, located in Vancouver, Canada. As a mom of two, she knows what it was like to take a happy baby out of a warm tub — we ALL know what happens. As soon as the cool air hits their skin we have one grumpy baby in our arms. And understandably so! When our shower is over, what’s the first thing we do? Usually we wrap up our hair in a towel so we stay warm while we towel off. Sharon made attempts to do the same for her little baby girl. Bamboobino’s best seller and signature item is the Bamboo After-Bath Hat. It’s a warm and absorbent terry hat made of 70% bamboo and 30% organic cotton. Essentially this is a baby’s version of the turban style towel wrap that we use! This soft little hat will finish drying baby’s hair after they’re done in the tub. Bamboobino suggests keeping it on for a 1/2 hour after baby’s bath in order to wick away any moisture from their hair and to keep their little bodies warm while you’re getting them dressed.

The After-Bath hat is available in size newborn-6months and 6-12months. Since Aidan was too big for those sizes, I received a package of the Bamboobino Bamboo Washcloths so I could test the absorbency. I gently towel dried his hair with one of the bamboo washcloths and voila! He had a dry head. Now, if you’ve met Aidan, or have seen pictures of him, you know he could be on that Saturday Night Live skit about the baby toupee! And that old wives tale that says if you have heartburn your baby will be born with hair? It was true for me! He had a full head of hair that you could run your fingers through when he entered this world! I wish we had this hat in the beginning…it would have been perfect! Especially during those first few weeks when you’re doing more of a sponge bath and trying to keep them warm at the same time.
