RASPBERRY KIDS

Sue Sinclair, Chief Executive Mom at Raspberry Kids , shared my same frustration learning the hard lesson of “you get what you pay for” when buying baby products for her first born. When you’re spending thousands of dollars on cribs, highchairs, diapers, the cutest baby socks you’ve ever seen, and those 57 baby onesies that we all think we think we’ll need, it’s easy to look past quality when we see a deal.

But how disappointing is it when we see our money fly out the window after we wash the onesies once and they come out looking like they were meant for a brick shaped baby. We usually learn our lesson the hard way — after we’ve spent the money. What is it that Oprah says? When you know better, you’ll do better?
Raspberry Kids caught my eye back in February when I was searching for organic and eco-friendly products. Their store isn’t exclusively eco-friendly, but like many companies they are offering more and more alternatives everyday, which I appreciate. Sue searches for only the best quality products to offer her customers, making buying for yourself or someone you love a breeze. It’s re-assuring to know that when you browse through the Organic category at Raspberry Kids, you’ll find unique and most importantly safe products like organic clothing, fabulous organic bedding, bamboo utensils, stylish and BPA, phthalate, PVC and polycarbonate-free bottles , and more!

Every item at Raspberry Kids has a description with specific product details but Sue took it one step further and added an “Our Criteria” tab. When you click on our criteria for the item you’re viewing you’ll see any of these icons pictured below depending on what products you’re checking out. Obviously, since I’m a Natural Mommie I was most interested in these 3 little icons: Sustainable and/or eco-friendly, made by a mama, and ethically made using fair -trade practices and/or charitable!

I’ve been particularly interested in finding safe alternatives for plastic toys. First there was the big scare of lead in toy paint and then BPA in plastics, both of which unfortunately turned out to be more than just a scare. There needs to be more responsibility when it comes to offering consumers products. Most times you won’t find product info on toys — but you will with Boon. Boon will tell you right on the front of the package all the nasty stuff that’s not in their products.

Boon is one of Sue’s favorite lines that she proudly carries at Raspberry Kids. All of Boon’s products are BPA, Phthalate and PVC free and meet Sue’s expectations of a company who is eco-friendly and who is ethical and/or charitable.
You’ll find wide selection of Boon products from Raspberry Kids. The products are fabulous to look at but they’re also above average when it comes to design and function. For example, the utensil set pictured here? They have a wide handle for little hands to grab on to, and the spoon and fork are wide enough that it’s not a balancing act for your little one to eat their cereal in the morning.

For review we received the Boon Water Bugs Bath Toy. This product is new from Boon and makes bathtime for your toddler fun! Aidan decided that it’s both an out of water toy and a tubbie toy so we bring it from the bathroom back to the living room everyday. The little colorful bugs {which are about the size of my palm} float around in the tub waiting to be scooped up by the bright orange net. The set includes what is pictured here. I love the bright colors of this product and also that it encourages fine motor skills in toddlers. Aidan uses the net to scoop up other toys, and of course to bang against the side of the tub to make noise :) And as always, all Boon products are:

I find that Boon’s bath products are very competitively priced when side by side other major brands which is a definite plus. It’s nice to find green products that hold their own when compared to traditional plastic toys. You can pick up the Water Bugs for $12.99 from Raspberry Kids. Thanks Sue, for bringing us the best quality products for our money!
