There are a lot of options for reusable water bottles out there but they’re definitely not all created equally! Many companies are jumping on the bandwagon without adequate testing resulting in that icky metallic taste I’ve come across with other stainless steel bottles. This Canadian company, Fill Your Own, creates bottles that are made from high quality 18-8 stainless steel, they are phthalate and BPA free and have no lining – important to note now more than ever with the new info released about other stainless steel bottles containing BPA in their liners!!

Fill Your Own bottles are “carbon neutral”. This means that the company takes responsibility for the greenhouse emissions that are generated by offsetting the manufacturing and shipping with carbon credits. Also, as a member of 1% for the Planet, Fill Your Own donates 1% of their sales to environmental organizations.

For review, we received 3 bottles that our family is loving! Aside from the beautiful artwork that you won’t see anywhere else, my other reasons for reaching for this bottle everyday are:

• the mouth is wide enough for ice cubes – I’m continually frustrated with stainless steel bottles that aren’t wide enough! I looooove my water ice cold so ice cubes are a must! Hey, a pregnant mama needs her ice!!
• the caps are truly leak free which is a lifesaver for my diaper bag and when Aidan tosses his bottle around in the backseat
• the bottles are 100% recyclable {compare that to the thousand years it takes your plastic bottle to decompose!}
• the 3 different lids you can choose from make it easy to customize the bottle for whoever will be using it. There’s a sports flip lid, straw flip lid {awesome for kids} and twist top with a carabiner.
