Two sisters named Aimee and Nicole had the same problem {which I have and I’m sure all of you have come across as well}:  awesome friends moving away, getting new jobs, getting married, starting new lives on different sides of the country..you know how it goes. What’s that called again? Oh yea, being an adult. Boo. So with becoming an adult and starting new chapters in our lives, come new neighborhoods, new cities and even new states. Aimee and Nicole decided to start up Not4Dating.com {clever name, huh??} as a way to connect with other people who had the same sort of interests and who were genuinely looking for platonic friendships – not for romantic dates!

They found that going to meetups and activity groups were too impersonal. I know myself, I’ve walked into mom groups before and stood there thinking….hmm….which mom here is going to be cool with my parenting choices and my lifestyle? It’s really hit or miss, so having a website like Not4Dating.com takes out a lot of the anxiety that comes with searching out new friends.

Not4Dating.com is now filled with tons of members looking to meet new friends who have all signed up for this awesome service for free. Yes, it’s free – Aimee and Nicole don’t think paying for new friends is nice so that’s what ad space is for! You can search for people in your area or search by activities like photography, artsy stuff, playdates and you can even search by days of the week!

Whether you’re looking for drinking buddies, hiking partners, dining companions, a friend to see a movie with or a new BFF, US residents check out this great social networking resource!! Also keep up to date with them on twitter and facebook.

About Amanda

I'm Amanda. I started Natural Mommie in 2009 and have been turning mommies from eco-weak to eco-chic ever since! Having an intense addiction to sparkly pink strawberry flavored lipgloss and never claiming to be perfectly green I vowed to not give up my hip mama self once I became a mom and wanted to bring a little more organic into my life. My closet still isn’t full of organic cotton and bamboo, but it’s getting there!
