Seems like yesterday, but 9 months ago I gave birth to my beautiful little man on his big brother’s birthday {yep, my boys were born on the same day exactly 2 years apart and  within an hour of each other!} In true Northern Canada style, November 30th was a crisp -40 degrees in both 2007 and 2009. Since inhumane temperatures is my life for almost 8 months of the year, I been through my fair share of sleep sacks. In a cold winter even with the furnace cranked at night, there is still a chill in the house.  And to keep our babies from getting too sweaty or too cold while sleeping, it really was a guessing game when it came to sleepwear. Undershirt plus footie jammies or just jammies? Socks? Help! Thankfully Lola & Ben gave us the answer and my little man never has cold hands:

…the award winning, body temperature regulating,   “4 Seasons in 1 Bag” baby sleeping bag in certified organic cotton.

And let.me.tell.you it’s lovely.

This baby sleeping bag has you covered for not only all the seasons but from age 6 weeks to 2 years!! It features a removable merino liner that is suitable for spring, summer and fall. If it’s very warm in the house during the summer months, the merino liner unsnaps and you’re left with a cozy organic cotton sleeping bag as a layer over baby’s diaper for naps and nighttime. If it’s winter you can add a heavier merino liner.

To be more specific, here is an exact temperature guide:

  • - Summer: Organic Cotton baby sleeping bag only – Room temperature > 27 degree celsius {80.6F} Ideal for day sleeps on hot days.
  • - Summer, Spring, Autumn/Fall: Organic Cotton baby sleeping bag +150 gm NZ Merino Liner – Room Temperature 19-26C {66.2-78.8F}
  • - Winter: Organic Cotton baby sleeping bag + 300 gm NZ Merino Liner – Room Temperature < 19 C {66.2F}

Here’s Ethan in his Organic 4 Seasons in 1 Baby Sleeping Bag with a beautiful merino liner in aquamarine blue that we received for review:

I can’t rave enough about the quality of this sleeping bag! To say it’s well made is an understatement. You can feel it in the hemming, the zippers, the snaps, the stitching but mostly, the fabrics.  The cotton outer is a really nice weight organic cotton that doesn’t require any extra washing to “soften up”. It’s already there. The liner is merino {and not the itchy, scratchy wool you might be thinking}  New Zealand Merino is the softest, silkiest, snuggle-worthy, breathable merino available. It’s incredibly functional with a double ended zip feature which enables easy access for changing babies through the night. Even the arm holes are adjustable for smaller babies {which is why you can use the bag from 6 weeks up to 2 years!}

About Amanda

I'm Amanda. I started Natural Mommie in 2009 and have been turning mommies from eco-weak to eco-chic ever since! Having an intense addiction to sparkly pink strawberry flavored lipgloss and never claiming to be perfectly green I vowed to not give up my hip mama self once I became a mom and wanted to bring a little more organic into my life. My closet still isn’t full of organic cotton and bamboo, but it’s getting there!
