One of the top toys this year is one you’ve likely seen the commercials for or even remember playing with when you were younger! Does this little guy look familiar? I remember him!

Well, Alphie the talking, educational robot that was found in households back in the 1980′s, has made a comeback for our children and of course he’s just as well loved and incredibly updated but still the familiar rugged little pal I remember from my childhood.

This durable {and I say that because he’s been dropped several times on our hard floor already} little robot teaches colors, shapes, letters, numbers, matching and so much more. It comes with 30 double sided cards that give access to over 800 learning activities.

This is one of the very few electronic toys that Aidan has and it’s likely the closest he’ll ever get to a video game.  When he’s 14 and he’s asking for xbox or whatever is popular at the time, I’ll whip out Alphie for him and say have fun  :)  Ha! But yes, yes,  I know kids get really bored, really easily and honestly this is something that keeps him entertained and I don’t mind because Alphie also helps him learn and prepare for school at the same time. Aidan hasn’t been able to go through all the cards yet – we’re working on mastering each one. When we get through the 30 pack Alphie comes with there are booster sets available to purchase to keep Alphie {and your little one} busy!

Alphie is a great little friend for preschooler’s aged 3-5 to tote around the house. Alphie talks {in a not-so-annoying voice, thankfully!}, he has an LCD face that actually shows facial expressions and he’s the perfect size for little ones at.  There is a handle on his head for easily carrying and travelling with and there’s also a slot in the back to store cards when they’re not in use. Alphie comes ready to use out of the box on christmas morning with batteries included. And moms you’ll be happy to know there are two volume settings on the back so Alphie’s not blaring in your ear if he happens to be travelling in the car with you like I know ours will be this weekend!
