green juice recipe: green lemonade

Alright. So I’m trying to get into the habit of drinking green juice in the morning maybe instead of my coffee, but I haven’t found a recipe that I love. No matter how healthy it is, if it doesn’t taste good, I can’t choke it down. And my husband won’t either.

A few days ago I was grocery shopping and trying to figure out what could make great tasting green juice and at that moment an email from the lovely lady who will be giving one of you an incredible juicer shortly {excited much?} and she shared a tasty recipe with me!

It’s known as Green Lemonade:

1 head of romaine
5 kale leaves  {our grocery store didn’t have kale so I used 2 big leaves  of bok choy but only used the leafy part}
1-2 inches ginger root
1 lemon
2 apples {remove the seeds before you juice! they’re toxic!}

Makes the perfect amount for 1 {see my pic above}

This is the first time I’ve had green juice on an empty stomach and right now I’m feeling kinda iffy about it. I think it’ll be something that takes some getting used to.

I can’t believe I just drank an entire head of lettuce and it actually tasted alright!

  1. I would love to try this. :) Such a great way to get your veggies!

    My mom made some really good veggie drinks with our juicer growing up, but it always takes some getting used to. Drinking your veggies is just “different” – lol. But it’s always a little easier when you’re adding fruit to the mix!

  2. I miss that. I didn’t know the seeds were toxic. good to know.
    You’ll get used it… and it’s soooo good for you.

  3. I remember drinking stuff like that as a kid and alot of carrot juice blend, but i can seem to get the same tasting drink now, not sure what was in it way back when.

  4. Hi Amanda,

    Just curious, what brand juicer do you use? Just wondering as I am starting to implement more raw foods into my family’s and would love to start juicing!

    Thanks in advance,

    Victoria
