I was so happy to come across Kigo Footwear because finding great looking eco-friendly shoes for mama isn’t easy at all! I’ve pretty much traded in my high heels for flats almost full time {boohoo} but I still want to look like I care when I leave the house whether it’s in joggers or jeans.

I have plenty of leather flats that are a little dressier, but casual flats – almost sneakers – are hard to find!! Well, at least the ones that look nice are. Kigo Footwear makes lightweight, minimalist shoes that are ideal for people on the move {read: moms who don’t stop}. They can be worn for running, walking, hiking, for water sports and really just for anything at all. Athletics or not, Kigo’s are comfy and  simple. They fold in half to easily store in your gym bag, suitcase or purse.

For review I chose the Kigo Curv in grey with green stitching. This style is designed for women {other styles are unisex} who want style and minimalist comfort. Whether for commuting, fitness or general everyday wear, the kigo curv is light, healthy and tasteful.

A Mary Jane style crafted especially for women, the curv is a comfortable and chic shoe for athletic or everyday wear. With a durable rubber outsole and feminine styling, the Kigo curv is like a ballerina bodybuilder – sweet and tough.

The stretchy uppers are breathable and made from post-consumer and eco-friendly materials {recycled plastic bottles}, eco-friendly lining and EVA insole,  the sole is incredibly flexible and only 1.5mm thick and is super grippy.Even the bag they come packaged in is made of cornstarch and is compostable!

Here I am wearing mine with workout pants, but they’d also look great with jeans, shorts and capris. It’s recommended to purchase 1/2 to 1 full size up and since I take 5.5 or 6, I went with size 6 since they’ll be worn sockless. They fit perfectly.

I haven’t quite worked up the courage to go for a run on the treadmill with these because I don’t want to hurt myself, but I’m completely intrigued with minimalist runners who use Kigo’s or go barefoot to run! Brisk walks are as far as I’ve gone with mine.
