kranky krab: personalized children’s prints/artwork {$50 #handmade #giveaway}

Recently I’ve starting going room by room in our house, hammering nails in the wall and attempting to give it that “touch” with either photographs of our family or artwork.  I’m just getting started with the boys rooms and I have been busy dreaming up inspirational, colorful bedrooms for them both to reflect their big personalities and Kranky Krab is fitting into vision nicely! Personalized artwork for children’s rooms is so much fun, especially when they’re around 3 years old and can recognize their name!

Kranky Crab’s creator, Tracy Hopkins was a designer and illustrator at Harcourt School Publishers illustrating and developing Flash based games for grades K-6. In 2006 she went freelance and has continued to work for them as well as National Geographic School Publishers and Harcourt Religion Publishers! Her work is unique in that everything is hand drawn first, then digitally colored and textured with Photoshop and Illustrator.  All of her prints are then created using a professional large format printer with archival inks on high quality  museum fine art stock, with some pieces printed directly to canvas. Everything is 100% handmade, including the frames, mats, and magnets!

For review, Tracy made my boys adorable artwork {which you’ll see below} along with these alphabet  magnets! Not a day goes by that they don’t stand at the fridge together playing magnets. Ethan points to the magnets and laughs, Aidan is learning his “c is for cat” and they both have fun taking them off and experimenting with what they’ll stick to. They’re a wonderful size for little hands  {2.25″} – easy to grasp and take off the fridge and big enough that nobody will choke on them.

In Ethan’s room, hanging above his crib is this personalized framed archival giclee canvas artwork featuring his name complete with original animal illustrations! The illustrations are placed in high quality canvas matte with glass overtop and the piece measures 32″x8″ in your choice of a white or black frame. I still need to add more framed pieces on this wall. I’m thinking of adding a ton of white framed pictures of Ethan around his name to fill up all the extra space and make a photo wall. I think this is a great piece to work around!

In Aidan’s room, he has a friendly little framed monster hanging on his wall. This smiley guy is a cute addition to his room and Aidan continues to point out that “that’s my name mama!”. He’s a hand drawn 5×7 illustration that’s matted in a white wooden frame. Really fun personalized artwork for children!

Aidan also has a matching set of Monster Magnets that he has stuck to his lamp base in his room!

I’m very happy to add this cheery artwork by Kranky Krab to my boy’s rooms. It’ll grow with them over the years and since it’s high quality printing, they’ll stand the test of time. The magnets are really well made and super durable. The boys have been throwing them all over the house for a while now and I have no doubts they’ll still be on our fridge in 5 years!
