Since the dogs are the only ones not running circles around me, these little faces will be my subjects for learning how to shoot on manual.
Here’s to putting the dreaded “M” setting on my camera to good use!

About AmandaI'm Amanda. I started Natural Mommie in 2009 and have been turning mommies from eco-weak to eco-chic ever since! Having an intense addiction to sparkly pink strawberry flavored lipgloss and never claiming to be perfectly green I vowed to not give up my hip mama self once I became a mom and wanted to bring a little more organic into my life. My closet still isn’t full of organic cotton and bamboo, but it’s getting there!
Great pics! But then again your photos always look great- thought you were already shooting on manual! Any tips you can pass this clueless mama?? :)
Thanks Julie! I can’t really give any tips because I’m not entirely sure how I get the pictures that I do! I just take them a certain way with a wide aperature setting and they usually look pretty decent. I lay on the floor a lot to take pics if that helps LOL and I never have my camera on Auto…always A or P or now M. A good lens helps I suppose…I have a few but the 50mm f/1.8 is my favorite!

YUP!! I’m not allowed to shoot in Auto anymore, we took an oath at the photography class last weekend!
Day 1 was spent in Manual but Day 2 was spent in Aperture and now that’s where I’ll always shoot. Apparently we had to learn M first, or else we wouldn’t understand A.
You’re already so far ahead of me regardless!! I love #3.

I’ve always shot in Aperature or P and love the look of my pics…but manual seems to do something a little different for me. Not sure what, but they look a little better for some reason. The problem with being self taught…have no idea what I’m doing, I just do it and it usually works!
