They shimmer, sway and dance to their own rhythm and everytime I see them I get a little choked up at their beauty. But don’t be mistaken….what could be a magical, quiet moment is instead a total chaotic panic scene with me running around the house opening every window and door, screaming at my husband “babe! omg! baby! you HAVE to see this! COME QUICK!!!! OMG!!!!!! TURN OFF THE LIGHTS!!!!!!!!!! ah!!! it’s AMAZING!!!! OMG OMG!!” followed by even more panic while trying to figure out what camera settings to use. I decided to throw my camera on manual and hoped for the best!

Here are more pictures from a couple years ago when we lived waaay up North and it was a crisp -43 degrees!

That’s amazing! I always want to see Northern light! Lucky that you can see it right outside of your home!

Thanks Stacey!
The lights are beautiful! I’m so jealous! I’d like to live up north just to be able to see those outside my window.
If only without the sub zero temperatures!
Beautiful aren’t they, I have only seen them a few times and never quite as far north as you lived so must be even more gorgeous up there, seen them in northern AB and last night in Stony Plain at least you panic for your camera I just freeze and look through the telescope!! Gorgeous photo’s:)
Through a telescope must be incredible!
Those are beautiful – I can’t imagine seeing them live!

Wow! VEry beautiful indeed! Nature never fails to amaze me :-)
Hard to believe it’s real, right? These pics are completely unedited too…they were so vivid and shimmery!
I definitely don’t blame you for running around and yelling at your hubby-That’s an AMAZING scene to behold, right outside your door no less! I’ve only witnessed that beauty once when I was really little so I don’t really remember it. I’d LOVE to be able to see those one day ^.^
Where do you live Kayla? I hope you’ll get to see them again! They’re so magical :)
