the 30 day green smoothie challenge \\ new year. new you. join me! #30daysofgreensmoothies

2012 has been very healthful year for my family. We’ve eliminated all artificial flavors and colors and most chemicals from our diet…of course some things sneak in once in a while ;) but overall we’re a very healthy family. But one thing we need to work on is more leafy green vegetables, so green smoothies are an easy way to ensure we’re all getting more.

2013 means at least one green smoothie everyday for everyone in our family…well for 30 days straight at least during the 30 day green smoothie challenge I signed up for.  After 1 month of green smoothies I’m sure it’ll become a natural habit for all of us. Along with green smoothies there will also be plenty more juicing – especially fresh orange and carrot juice.

If you’re up for the challenge and want to join, go see the gals at Simply Green Smoothies and register. You can follow my challenge here on and on my facebook and instagram. I’ll be posting pictures and recipes of all the green smoothies I make for myself and my family.

I’ll share my recipe for one of my favorites (pictured below) tomorrow. It’s refreshing, sweet and tastes nothing like grass, I promise. So go buy a magic bullet if you don’t have one (you don’t need a fancy schmancy blender!) and get ready for your healthiest year yet!

Happy New Year!

About Amanda

Amanda Robinson is the eco-chic, green living, fitness loving mom behind Natural Mommie. Since early 2009, Amanda has been the source for moms to learn how to bring more balanced green beauty, eco-friendly, sustainable, organic products into their lives without being too “crunchy” or “granola”. Amanda is passionate about wellness and inspiring moms to make more eco-friendly and healthy choices without having to give up their hip mama selves and trade in their stilettos for Birkenstocks. She can often be found sipping green tea, behind her camera, diy’ing, instagramming, in the middle of a workout, chasing her two little boys around her farm or with her nose in an ingredients list in efforts to help other moms become more aware of what is really in the products they buy.

  1. I’m game!!

  2. Does the Magic Bullet blender attachment really work for smoothies with spinach?? I tried it once but didn’t seem to blend very well so never tried again. Waiting for my Vitamix…but will definitely try this challenge if the Magic Bullet works!

  5. Hi Amanda! Your pictures make me want to down some orange carrot juice right now! Just beautiful! Glad to have you joining the challenge with us— I am sure you just got our first email since the actual launch. Can’t wait to check in with you and see how you are doing. Feel free to email me with any questions. And if you ever want to share one of your own Green Smoothie recipes on our site or Facebook page, I’m sure we could work something out. Here’s to healthy families in 2013!

    • Hi Jen :) Thanks for stopping by. I adore what you gals are doing…such a great way to get others started with healthy eating. It was time for our family to take it up a notch so your challenge came at the perfect time. And I knew my readers would enjoy learning about it too so blogging about it was a given!

Looking forward to the next 30 days and beyond! ;)

Uh…. my fancy schmancy Hamilton Beach blender was $19 at Walmart. Can’t drop $99 on a Magic Bullet. Guess I cannot join you. :(

    • Any blender will do – the “fancy schmancy blender” I was referring to was the vitamix (upwards of $600). Your blender would do great. If you are looking for a magic bullet in the future I snagged mine at Costco for about $40. ;)
