the “drink more water” goal…again + using apps to stay motivated

water

I don’t know why drinking enough water seems to be a challenge for me. Is it hard for you too? I tend to get on a good roll and drink enough, then a couple days pass by, I notice dry skin and a couple breakouts then put two and two together – not getting enough water.

I usually drink a glass first thing in the morning which feels fantastic and kick starts my digestion. But as the day goes on I forget to reach for anything to drink other than a coffee or tea. By night time I’m feeling thirsty so I drink a ton before bed, but that’s really not the way to do it!

I downloaded an app called Waterlogged to track how much water I’m drinking and to hopefully help form a habit :) Everytime you drink 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 or full glass of water you just tap the amount and it gives you a visual of how much you’ve drank so far. I’m aiming for up to 2000ml/2liters a day.

Other apps I love to use: MyFitnessPal, Nike Training Club and VEVO (so I have something to watch while I’m on the treadmill…Usher and Justin make me run faster ;)

What are your favorite apps for staying on track and keeping healthy and motivated?

  1. Im very much a MyFitness Pal gal too… It’s pretty eye opening to actually see what you are consuming caloric-ly in a day!

    1. Yikes, I know hey? Even 1tbsp of something here…something else there….it all adds up and adds up FAST! It’s a great tool to use to stay on track!

  2. I do not drink enough water and yes your body does show it. My skin gets dry and my body needs hydration.
I think for me is when I am at work I do not want to drink to much as to not go the washroom so much. Silly I know. We need to keep our bodies hydrated. Waterlogged sounds interesting thank you for sharing.

  3. Thanks for the tip on the Waterlooged app. I also go in spurts and do really well for a couple of days and then fall off the wagon for a few more. It would be great to be more consistent – hoping this helps. Thanks!

  4. i drink water quite a bit fortunately for me. a good tip that i recently am doing is vitamin infused water (i knowou already do the cucumber). i purchased a 2L glass jug and put slices of orange and lemon (and lime if available) and leave overnight in the fridge. the next day i have the 2L of vit infused water to chug down throughtout the day. hope this helps.
