When my children are sick (and therefore ridiculously picky eaters like most kids are when they’re under the weather) this is filling (if you make it with whole milk) while giving them a boost of vitamin C that’ll help heal their colds. Start with a trip to a thrift store to buy a set of not so pretty brass lamps. Choose ones with good lines and test to see if they’re working before you buy. These babies were $7.99. Then, wipe them down, apply 1 coat of spray primer, followed by 2-3 thin coats of glossy white spray paint! Try not to make your husband grumpy by getting white spray paint all over the (new) garage floor. Use lots and lots of cardboard. Or if it’s not subzero temperatures where you live, do this outside. They have their little chunk of independence and I have a cute photo opp of my little boys. Even though letting them do this involves me re-stocking 5 shelves that were swiped clean from the sides of their baskets and then spending 10 minutes trying to explain to them why the 14 chocolate bars they threw in is a bad idea and tissue and chocolate milk might be better options for sniffly noses.

I know I’m not alone when I say that some days my children don’t roll out of their jammies until well into the afternoon. And by afternoon I mean right before daddy walks through the door for dinner. Let’s be real. Jammies are usually involved in running errands around the city more often than I’d like to admit, but the thing is? They’re comfy. They come in adorable designs. And some days it’s not worth the battle to wrangle a two year old.
But stuff that worries me about having my boys in jammies for a minimum of 14 hours a day? Flame retardants, toxic dyes and not so natural materials. But the thing is, I’m kinda drawn to the brightly colored super cozy and warm (click title to read more)
